Hello,
I have used two credit cards over the last two years -- both on an annual 0% charge.
What I have discovered with both these is that your limit starts at about £1,000 and increases each month.
My first question is: Do you have to use the card to get the limit increased?
And, secondly, is there any 0% card out there that would allow me to make a purchase of around £5,000?
(Or is that asking too much?!)
Thanks for reading.

Hi,
I applied for an Amazon Card in May and got a £6400 limit which i used to partially pay for the HUGE car we now need for three children!! this also netted me a whopping £45 in amazon vouchers!!!0 -
It all depends very much on your credit history, so it's impossible to determine whether you would receive a credit limit of £5,000 or £1,000 to be honest.
The general rules that I work to are to keep your credit applications to less than 10 per year and check your file regularly - a credit card or loan that you believe to be closed (or 'settled') may not be, so it's worth checking.
If it's any help, my Capital One card has a limit of more than £20,000.Mortgage Feb 2001 - £129,000
Mortgage July 2007 - £0
Original Mortgage Termination Date - Nov 2018
Mortgage Interest saved - £63790.60
ISA Profit since Jan 1st 2015 - 98.2% (updated 1 Dec 2020)0 -
Thanks -- they are huge amounts!
To add my "findings", both Halifax and Sainsbury's offer about £1,000 on start-up (both these were 0% interests for the year).0 -

They offered £1000 on start up to yourself, but as other posters have mentioned it varies on each persons circumstances.0
