hi all!
looking to pick a selection of your brains please?
i am about to get a new 'wizzy' phone for my birthday and would love some help with ideas please. i understand everyone will have their favourite phones/providers/tarrifs etc so i will give you an idea of what i will need or use it for.
although a prolific internet user, i am still a bit low-tech and have had 2 phones each for 5 years (nokias).
i don't have an mp3 or media player or a camera and not sure if i will need or use these features. what i do want is good internet access/useage to, for example, look up prices or saleability on ebay when i am out and about.
i have had a look at an iphone and like some of the features eg. weighing scales, but don't know if i can get this elsewhere on another phone. btw i know i need to go and have a play in-store, i just wanted to get some independent feedback.
i currently am on a vodafone sim-only deal, £15 for 600 mins/unltd txts. in theory i would rather stay with them (tied till august) but am up for moving.
i would be happy with less mins and txts, but would like unltd or cheap internet useage - i don't expect to watch films or play games online etc.
any good deals about? i am always up for cashback too;)
many thanks for all help x

Iphone is fantastic bit of kit, especially if you use the internet a lot on the phone. That said, I personally don't think it lives up to the hype until you jailbreak it (which takes all of five minutes, especially with the new spirit jailbreak), then it really is fantastic.
Despite having an iPhone, I'm actually a bit of a Sony fangirl so had a play with the X10 over the weekend and it looks amazing. I've heard a lot of great things about it too.
If you're not looking to spend that much, maybe check out something like the 5800 (or whatever is the new, updated model of that is), few of my friends have them and love them, the big screen makes net usage easy, and apparently the ovi store is great for apps. I haven't had a nokia in years so I can't comment, but apparently it's a great phone.Sigless0 -

definitely do 2 things
- try the phone out in a store before you buy it
- try the network out with a PAYG sim if your thinking of changing networks
(the iPhone ebay app is great..)0
