What annoys you about buyers most?

For a bit of fun. Thought it might also be educational

Here we go for starters:-

1. Names and addresses with lower case first letters ...I just have to correct them! Can also lead to errors in post codes...nightmare.

2. Queries about "where is my item", you go to all the trouble of checking Royal Mail website sending all the info you can get and you ask them to contact you if or when it does (or does not) arrive........then you hear nothing more!

3. (Mainly on Amazon) E-Mail address has changed and all your missives about delivery etc are "Undelivered Mail Return to Sender". Please can buyers update their details.

I am sure you will all have your personal favourites.

1 and 2 are so true.

I got a parcel back yesterday, because buyer hadn't bothered to pick it up from the depot. I've tried contacting them so much, but no luck.

im guilty of number 1 :o

i think the main things that have annoyed me this past week is:

    1. Inability to read auctions properly
    2. Inability to read payment/postage/delivery information
    3. Expecting items to be sent before they have even paid for them
    4. Buyers not reading emails, lack of contact

thats just been in the past week :rotfl: dont get me started on the rest of the time because i will be here forever :rotfl:

One last week got to me, new buyer recently registered, she was bidding on 2 items, when she won the first I offered free delivery on the second item (only small) and she won, paid for just one lot of postage which was £1. Then I gets an email complaining that she paid £2 postage (which she didn't forwarded paypal receipt) and was only the cost of envelope and stamps. 23p left from P&P doesn't even cover fuel to post office. I was nice to her and she starts moaning saying she will leave a negative.
One day I might be more organised...........

I print my labels out using a daily download from Paypal into a mailmerge, as part of this I can globally convert all of the labels to Caps.
  • Foreign bidders automatically paying the UK Postage and then complaining when you refund them and ask for more postage

Buyers who dont read clothes measurements, and then complain saying its my fault it doesnt fit, and giving me a neg for saying that as they didnt read the measurements listed in the auction, that its not my fault

lots of watchers and questions and getting no bids on the item

buyers who happily complain they have been overcharged on postage but never offer to pay more when they are undercharged

  • Mine are all lovely ;) - no seriously - I sell antiques and china to middle-age grey haired ladies worldwide and I rarely have any problems with anything.

I think that the snags you can run into all depend on what you are selling and to whom.

    well if you insist :rotfl:

    5. Buyers that complain about posting costs and seem to think packaging materials come for free

    6. Buyers that use feedback as communication rather than reading emails

    7. Buyers that dont pay responding to NPB disputes still dont pay and then leave a neg in retaliation because they havent paid

    8. Buyers having incorrect contact information

    9. Buyers that presume because you are selling on ebay they are buying from a business and expect to have the same rights as if they were buying from a shop - especially when they are in the wrong

    10. Buyers who insist on paying by methods of payment that are not accepted

    11. Buyers that ask questions after they have won auctions and then complain because its not what they wanted even though the answers to their questions where crystal clear in the auction

    12. Buyers that think they have the right to send sellers abuse for no reason at all

    13. Buyers that complain that they won the item under the price of what it should be if they bought it in the shops (i mean !!!!!!??? why buy it if you wanted to pay more in a shop for it?!)

    14. Buyers that presume your whole life revolves around ebay and that you have nothing else to do with your time

    15. Buyers that bid on things and buy BIN's when they dont even want the item who then contact you after to say they dont want it - i mean come on whats the point

Im sure i will think of some more in a little while :rotfl: On the upside though i would say 98% of my buyers are lovely and problem free :D

    I love it!
  • Ive got more too

buyers who bid on several of the same items, and only buy the one they win thats cheapest and tell the other sellers tough

foreign buyers who expect airmail post to be overnight (especially after they only paid after npb was started)

(controversial one this one) buyers who expect to get positive feedback the minute they have paid
See the stars they’re shining bright
