Kos town is brill, old town, with lots of great tavernas, fantastic beach, fab harbour, boat trips to other islands & turkey, has something for everyone

corfu is great long as you don't go to the most popular places as it's like 18/30 hol otherwise, we stayed in moriatika which had everything we wanted, 10 minutes from benitsis but quieter,

same for Rhodes, don't go to faliraki if your not 18, lol,

most places in crete are fab & it's the biggest island

my biggest dissapointments & only a personnel view was Halkadiki not much to do & expensive & Zante though the beach was fab in Tsilivi there were too many english folk lived there so did'nt feel like greece & they were mainly from liverpool, lol

we love greece overall & been going for years, the folk are so friendly, good food, we usually eat were the locals eat, it's better & cheaper

hope you have a good time wherever you go

For me, I have found it well worth the effort to get away from the more popular islands to some of the less touristed ones - they are usually within half a days ferry trip of an airport. We have visited around 40 islands at the last count - there are plenty beyond the travel brochures.

Prices tend to be cheaper, they are a lot more quiet, have retained the Greek character and (the big bonus for me) you are not stuck in a hotel full of whinging brits.

Pefkos is wonderful, a nice traditional village/town with lots of traverns to choose from with a nice relaxing nightlife. Returning there in Sept for the 5th year, we have also been to Skala in Kefolonia which was good. Trying Elounda in Crete for the 1st time in a few weeks.

I just got back from Elounda last week. Lovely place and we had a thoroughly relaxing week there. Enjoy!

Another vote here for Pefkos! :p

My boyfriend and I went there for a week last June and thought it was great. It is fairly quiet as the others have said, but you can always do days here and there to other parts of Rhodes like Rhodes Town and Lindos for a bit of sightseeing. We would love to go back sometime in the future if funds permit.

Hope you have a great holiday wherever you decide to go :) x

I'd go with rhodes too Rhodes old town is beautiful. The beaches are shingle round that area though so another resort would be better. You cal also take boat trips to lots of places. I went to Symi it was lovely although I was very seasick! you can go to Turkey too.

Have a great holiday whatever you decide the Greek people are very friendly.
