in Credit cards
Hi there,
We booked for a speed awareness course from AA drivetech on the 29th April and originally we used a debit card to try and purchase it. Entered in the details then it went onto the 'AA drivetech' part instead of 'drivetech' and it said that the system was down and unavailable. Then we looked at the debit card and and saw it was charged (after doing it a few hours later with a credit card this time and successfully getting through).
We have constantly been up their backside trying to get them to refund it and originally we rang up on around the 1st May when we found out that it was charged from the debit card too and a woman said it may take up to two weeks - this time has passed and now when rung up today they said they put it back on the 30th April 1:50pm which we then rang up the bank and this is not the case at all and we have taken a mini statement to ensure this is the case too.
So basically £66.41 down the drain. I am wondering if anybody has dealt with them before, if any similar problems you have had and how to deal with it? I have e-mailed the managing director and hope he will ring back tomorrow after being fully informed of the situation but i as of yet cannot tell whether that will be successful.
£66.41 is a lot to be stolen from but as it is a debit card - I know it is harder to get it back.
Bank we used the debit card of belongs to Yorkshire Bank.

would it not be easier to just do a charge back on the credit card and use reason as payment taken twice0
