I think when it comes to something like this you get what you pay for. Sometimes its worth paying a decent amount for the extra service.. .. ..When dealing with the CSA its important to note that it is commonly accepted as unfit for purpose, and by default this also means the staff are unfit for purpose.0

Yeah thanks, I know what you mean. We have an idea of the sort of thing we want, maybe if we tell them that, they will work around that instead of just giving us random pictures ........:heart2::heart2::heart2: I LOVE MY BEAGLE! :heart2::heart2::heart2:0

There have been a few threads on recently regarding logos, if you search the forum for logos, e.g.

Just out of interest, I was looking at some of the threads, and one of the linked sites looked interesting: http://www.dot-design.co.uk/
I've no idea how much it costs to get a logo done by someone like that?
I have looked at this site myself in the past, which is of the "competition" sort:
http://99designs.com/logo-design?n=4&f=o&l=t&a=o
I've not used it, as yet, though love the idea of having a snazzy logo!Debbie0 -
Yeah, theres a lot of companies who do logo design but where do you start? I have emailed somebody that I found on one of the threads you suggested. I dont want to spend loads of money on something that Im not happy with. Surely there should be a guarantee in place that if youre not 100% you can get your money back? Its not a straight forward logo I want, like a random shape, its more of a picture. We shall see.............:heart2::heart2::heart2: I LOVE MY BEAGLE! :heart2::heart2::heart2:0

It's a tricky one. I've just been completely distracted with some stories about copyright issues, competion logo sites, and ripping off stock photos. That's a bit of a nightmare scenario.
That dot design site is based in the South West, I noticed, so may be handy for you?
Just try not to spend £400000 and end up with a logo as bad as the Olympics 2012 one.

Debbie - why not contact dot-design and ask - if you don't ask then you will never know, you may be pleasantly surprised (same goes for Gemini too).
Its a pity that I had my logo re-drawn (the intertwined hearts were originally a vistaprint logo) - printing.com did mine when they did my business cards, I didnt know about dot-design at the time..so maybe when I next need some artwork I shall approach them.0 -
Thanks for the original link, Horace. I do like some of the logos on there.Debbie0

there's also various freelance sites out there where you can post a project and then freelancers bid on your project, you can see examples of their work, and sometimes mock-ups/drafts of what their ideas are and then you can accept the bid that reflects a price you're happy with as well as a design idea that you like.
Then you can keep in contact with the freelancer, and only when you're both happy with the design/deal you both accept and the money will be transferred into the freelancers account.
I believe that the site holds onto the money until both people are happy and the deal is complete and if the deal is cancelled then it will be returned to the person who posted the project.
I think the site probably take some kind of fee too, though i'm not sure if it's off the person who posted the project, or the designer.
Might be worth checking some of them out, there's many around.0
