A guy I used to know at work used to always say "Number one son" and "Number two son" when he talked to us about his family.................I never heard him use their real names when he was talking about them.:D
I understand your frustration Martin. I'm usually pretty good at remembering people's names but there are limits.
I've been at sporting events where dozens of players arrive to register before playing. Some of them look really hurt when I ask them 'please tell me your name'..............when I've known them for years.:o They just couldn't put themselves in my position, where I'm faced with a massive queue of people who I'm supposed to get everyone's name correct.:o
I understand what it feels like for you. We all know you. You're that MoneySavingExpert bloke Martin Lewis who we've seen on the telly...................but how can you be expected to remember our names when you meet us?;)
In your shoes, I would be upfront and honest with people...................and explain that I struggle to remember names. I'd say to them "Please don't be offended if I can't remember your name, I'm just as bad with some of with my family members":o:D10 Dec 2007 - Led Zeppelin - I was there. :j [/COLOR]:cool2: I wear my 50 (gold/red/white) blood donations pin badge with pride. Call everyone darling, love, chick, sweetheart, etc and you're sorted.
Some of the names I'm called, most things would be an improvement!0 -

We are referred to as numbers in many a computer database.[greenhighlight]but it matters when the most senior politician in the land is happy to use language and examples that are simply not true.
[/greenhighlight][redtitle]
The impact of this is to stigmatise people on benefits,
and we should be deeply worried about that[/redtitle](house of lords debate, talking about Cameron)0 -
