Just went to Orange retentions. I was paying £30pm for 200mins. They gave me this amazing deal for £35pm on an 18 month contract:

    2,550 cross-network 24/7 minutes pm (no joke)
    Unlimited text messages
    Free answerphone
    Free itemised billing
Free 512MB GPRS data per month
Free Sony Ericcson W810i phone (worth £170 on eBay)
Free Broadband upto 8Mbps with 2GB monthly limit
    Free WiFi router/firewall

    pretty good! well done mate

may i ask, how much your bills were coming to before this? and how much were you using the phone (mins + texts).

it would be interesting to see what customers require, to get offered such a cracking deal..
  • Hi,

I'm currently with orange and my contract is up at the end of September. I'm also moving into a new house so will need to get broadband. Each month I send about 600 texts but only make 100 minutes of phone calls. Ideally I would get a package with 750 texts just to be on the safe side, and 200 minutes, just incase I have a expensive month. The orange Dolphin 35 plan sounds ideal, plus this gets me the free broadband. Now, if orange are advertising this for £35 a month, how much will they drop it too if I ask for my PAC number and threaten to leave?

I've calculated that this at the standard rate is £35 a month, plus £11 a month for the BT landline. So thats £46 a month in total. Would it be better getting a landline/broadband with Talktalk for £22 a month and getting a tariff that suits my needs else where, and in which case, where is best to look?

    Thankyou in advance.

A note regarding the 2000+ retentions offers, I was told by a rep when I called last week that Orange are planning on pulling this soon, I don't know when but if your a few weeks away from your contract ending it might be worth 'calling to leave' now. I wasn't offered the insurance but I will see if I can grab that this week - couldn't upgrade last week as the SPV M3100 was out of stock for existing customers.

I just called orange retentions to get a good offer, so i asked for my PAC number and the lady said that it will be sent to me through the post, nothing about offering me a good deal! I have 2 phones and i pay 50 Pounds/month for each phone!

I would like to stay with orange, is there any chance that they will call me back?
  • Nrg,
    "YES"
They called up a mate of mine a couple of weeks ago, after he had received his PAC by letter.
...and then the window licker said to me...
