i would have thought you have to get the tank drained and flushed out before the engine packs up0

2 litres out of how many? Is she sure it was only 2 litres (with mine 2 liitres miught = 20 litres)?
I suspect you will be fine but you might want to do some more research (quietly) into this first. Might have warranty implications.
On a 60 litre tank that is only 3.3%
If it was my out of warranty car I would brim it to ensure maximum dilution. (But please check first)0 -
I've seen blokes do this as well.Ær ic wisdom funde, ær wearð ic eald.

Petrol in a diesel can be very bad news but 2 litres in a full tank is unlikely to cause damage. As Hintza said, 3.3%0

Capacity is 65 litres so even better now only 3%.
If you decide to drain it I'll buy the drained fuel from you...;)0 -
In the past, manufacturers have recomended a small amout of petrol in diesel cars during very cold weather to prevent the diesel gelling and to thin it out.
I doubt the persentages you are talking about will be a problem, but if you keep the tank topped right up, those percentages will drop anyway. Personally, I'd take that action and stop worrying0 -
It will make no difference other than a slight drop in performance. Just keep topping it up with diesel and it'll be absolutely fine.0

2 litres in a full tank will not do any harm, you probably will not notice any difference, as suggested above, top it up with diesel as soon as you use some fuel.0

Agree with PPPL  for once!:D
When the tank is half full, fill it with diesel again. Repeat this half a dozen times to minimise any effects of the petrol. The man without a signature.0
