A quick scan of your posting history, and anyone would think that you worked for them! :cool:Gone ... or have I?0 -
thanks - but no thanks!
I believe you, thousands wouldn't.
Nevermind, if we keep quoting www.wantthelook.com (and of course, www.wantthelook.co.uk) this thread will shortly be near the top of the Google search list. Not a very encouraging advertisement!Gone ... or have I?0 -
Looks like Wantthelook are not going to reduce their prices back to what they were - see here a message from the CEO which I copied from lipglossing.com
Dear All,
Good Afternoon All,
I would like to take this opportunity to apologise for any in-convenience / misleading queries that have arisen from the MyCityDeal promotion. It is our first promotion with MyCityDeal and the fine print should have been made clearer by MyCityDeal when purchasing the voucher, which seems to have been the case.
We have newly launched the Dermalogica dedicated website due to their imposing T&C’s of only allowing their brand on a singular website and basket checkout.
Post the transition time to get this site live (live last Friday) we then became aware that Dermalogica had a price increase of approx 10% across its catalogue, where we had loaded the pricing based on our previous prices on our sister site which we had not reflected in our calculations for this deal.
This I can see has reflected badly in this promotion timing, and yes we take customer satisfaction very seriously which is why I am taking this opportunity to respond personally.
We again apologise for any inconvenience and feeling of mis-leading sales tactic, of which this was not one.
Regards
Oliver
CEO Want The Look
I think I'm going to go back to MyCityDeal and ask for their refund which they say they give within 7 days of the transaction.
Shame I won't be getting cheap Dermalogica but hey ho!

It is amazing how no other stockists seem to have had this sudden price increase, plus the bizarre timing coincidence ...
Do these people really think we are stupid?Gone ... or have I?0 -

They are blaming Want the Look! :rotfl:Hi everyone,
I’m Jemima, writing from MyCityDeal.co.uk
We have been very disappointed to hear that the prices on http://www.wantthelook.com were increased by the owners of the site after the offer was finished on MyCityDeal.
I would like to explain that we at MyCityDeal work tirelessly to find fantastic deals for our customers. Sometimes, the website or venue owners find the response is much higher than they had anticipated, and they are unprepared for the orders subsequently placed.
We always want to put you guys first, and I can assure you that the price changes were made without any prior consultation with MyCityDeal – we are just as frustrated as you about this.
MyCityDeal is currently in discussions with Want The Look to find a suitable arrangement for those customers who were left out of pocket.
You can call them on: + 44 (0) 845 6041599, or email us: support@mycitydeal.co.uk
The moment we have any further announcements, all customers will receive an email from MyCityDeal, and I will publish the letter on our website too (and link to it from here).
We very much hope that Want The Look are able to find a solution to suit their new customers, and we will work hard to get a great resolution. We are always learning, and doing everything we can to avoid this happening in the future.
Thanks for listening,
Jemima
