Transferring text messages between Windows Mobile Phones

I don't think there is , best you can do is store the messages on a pda or pc.0

You might be able to save them to the SIM and transfer that way. If you can still connect noth phones to a PC, the native software for the phones should allow you to save and store, then reversing the process with the new phone.
Alternatively, you can forward them as SMSs using another SIM card.0 -
This has always been a problem, particularly with phones from different brands.
The sim card method works, but a sim can only hold about 20 text's, so if you've a lot (my wife has over a 1000 on hers!). it can take an age.
If you use another sim to move them they all lose their time/date stamp and get restamped with the time and date you resend them. So if you want them intact that's no use.0 -
Can you not just back them up to your pc and then at least you have them?Using my phone to post - apologies in advance for any typos0

There are 3rd party apps that will allow you to backup and restore SMS. Have a look on frewarePPC.com for an appropriate app like this , but will depend on your version of WM. There may even be a bluetooth app that will allow beaming data between phones.
Honestly speaking though, what SMS messages are you looking to save? I've never come across any SMS that I would want to keep on a phone. Most have been throw away comments and replies. If there was important information I needed to keep, I would save the info in the Notes app, which can then be ActiveSync with Outlook for a more permanent solution.0 -
Hi
I have used PIM 2.8,but it did not copy the SMS across.
The messages are ones I wish to retain
If I can back them up to PC, then I can go from there.
My other alternative is to look at an HTC Snap - I think
Thanks for all posts so far
