Thank you so much for your help. Scan still running.
Should I retick the boxes i unticked in post 50? The hidden files?
Sorry for all the questions, but can you tell me how I got the virus? Was I not protected enough?
I want to reapply for online banking, am I safe now? Should I use rapport when I do? Or not bother? I rang rapport from my bank yesterday, they sent me a email telling me how to send them logs, they have not replied.0 -

yes, change the 'hidden files' back to hidden
I wouldnt touch 'rapport' with a bargepole personally. And it certainly isnt required for online banking anyways
As for how you got it, I suspect it was via an 'infected' webpage
To make sure this never happens again, I would recommend using FIREFOX with the NOSCRIPT plugin:idea:0 -

Thanks. It's only in the past year that I used Rapport, on banks advice!
I have firefox, where do I turn on the Noscript plug-in? Many thanks again.0 -

I use Firefox but also IE7, with roboform for comps, as the latest version of firefox doesn't support Roboform.0

So long as your happy that the sites you go on for comps are legit then IE7 'should' be fine
But theres a very high chance that yove visted an infected webpage at some point to end up with the problems you have had:idea:0 -
