Hi
I am currently selling my house due to relationship breakdown. I am looking at renting and have come across this rightmove ad...
http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-to-rent/property-23855480.html
It looks too good to be true (and probably is!) But I was just wondering if anyone had heard of them and also if it is as simple as the £400pcm payment all goes towards a deposit?
Many thanks :j

I have had the misfortune of coming across the RSG Group or RSG Properties as they advertise in my local paper (Barnsley Chronicle and Independent). I phoned them in order to sell my house. They made me an offer which was less than the value but I was looking for a quick sale. A few weeks went by and the day before we were due to complete they reduced their offer by £13,000 without justification. Fortunately for me I was able to pull out of the sale as I did not "need to sell". It has left me with a £500 solicitors bill and a wasted 4 weeks.
I have since spoken to another company and we have agreed a purchase price so we shall see how that goes.
Beware of RSG Properties/Group (I have been searching around and they are the same outfit)0 -
The historic threads on this forum suggest that 'quick buy' property companies routinely gazunder just before exchange in order to take advantage of distressed sellers who may have little choice but to continue with this last resort fire sale.
Influx 11 - but didn't you have an agreed price with the previous company? Are you on for another gazunder with the new company?0 -

Spot on Jowo. I worked for one and this is exactly what they do. Not always, sometimes they make a ridiculously low initial offer and to their amazement it is accepted so no need to reduce but that is very rare. On the whole sellers will end up with just enough to break even after the late reduced offer.
Influx11, who is the new company you refer to?0 -
PARASITES thats the best word to sum them up. In 2002 i had the misfortune to sell my late Dads house, it was quite run down and needed gutting so i priced it accordingly at £95k, about half the value compared to other large houses in the road. RSG offered £35k thinking i was vunerable and desperateBe Alert..........Britain needs lerts.0

Has anyone had experience of purchasing a property from them? Is the purchasing of a property from them all above board?0

Are they still in business?? I came across them in the North East about 3 years ago, they were buying and selling cheap with quick turnovers... they seemed to disappear when the market dropped.
I remember they used to "dress" the properties they were selling with a furniture pack - which turned out to be the same furniture in each house, transported in a van, bashed around a bit, dragged in and out of properties - photos taken for the website then shot back in the van and off.0 -
I AM STILL WAITING AFTER 11WEEKS FOR MY DEPOSIT BACK FROM THESE SCUM BAGS OH I AM SOOOO CROSS SOMETHING DIFFERENT EVERYTIME I RING UP NOW THEY WON'T SPEAK TO ME NEXT THING IS TO GO DOWN THERE!!!!!:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:0

Hi,
Think this question was asked earlier in the thread but need a quick reply.
Has anyone had the experience of buying a property from The RSG Group because in just about to start negotiations with them on a house and wondering if it's best just to save my time.
Cheers0 -

It certainly sounds like that, doesn't it?No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0
