The url is not valid and cannot be loaded

I'm using windows 7 on a new laptop,every so often the above message pops up and will not load whatever i click on,any ideas why and how to solve it please

    It happens on different pages,it can happen anytime and not on any particular url

    I don't get you,i can be looking at different pages on the internet,then when i click on something else i want to look at the message pops up and the next page will not load.

    Are you using FireFox? If so a very quick google search throws up umpteen hits and suggestions for fixing this - mostly involving duff extensions and themes.

    Yes it's firefox,and i've seen these fixes and tried them,no luck

    Last time I saw this, clearing the cookies fixed it. YMMV

    I get the same problem. Tried a few of the solutions offered on various forums. Seems to relate to a good number of add ons and plug ins. Only work around I have is to close Firefox and switch the router power off. Wait a minute or so. Then start everything up again. Very inconvenient.

    I use FF and don't see this. I think if I got it regularly I'd look at using an alternative browser.
