Hi Guys,
I'm off to the WC in SA in about 3 weeks.
I travelled extensively 2 years ago, and did all my cash withdrawals on a Nationwide cashcard. As I am sure you are aware, this option is no longer available. Also, I have been refused the upgraded FlexAccount (and Visa Debit card) in the past.
I'm a student, and I do have a couple of credit cards (Barclaycard Platinum & Halifax One), but I think it is unlikely I can get one of the better cards for travelling.
So that brings me here, any tips/advice with regards to my best options for accessing my cash while in South Africa? I'll be taking about £2500 total.
The best pre-paid cards don't offer SA Rand, the best that does is probably the Travelex card, but I want to check there isn't a better option.
Any advice would be much appreciated.
Cheers,
Tom.

Just because your going to South Africa it doesn't mean that having a Rand card is the best option - you can see what i mean here:

(some global sterling cards are a lot better a bet) :beer:Modern travel: breakfast in Paris, dinner in Rome, bags in Singapore0
