hi everyone
back in may 2008 I had a minor car accident and it badly damaged my back (all soft tissue damage). physio didnt help and docs said there's nothing else they can do. it still gives me constant agony to the point where even sitting down hurts.
in addition, i developed SPD (symphusis pubis dysfunction) in my pregnancy which has yet to heal (baby is 6 mths) and that also leaves me constantly in pain.
im a full time mum and DH works. can I claim some sort of disability benefit? if so, what happens?

When did you last work? Do you have care or mobility needs?Gone ... or have I?0

i started work in aug 08 (at uni before then) and finished in june 09 (when i was pregnant)
i cannot walk far or drive far. going up and down stairs (ie. to toilet) is very painful but i can do it if i have to. bending, squatting and sitting (for long periods) is agony.0 -
for contribution based benefits they will look at sufficient NI payments between Apr 07-Apr 09 so you are not going to qualify, as your OH works that is also going to rule out means tested benefits such as JSA and ESA.
Not sure how DLA works....0 -
It sounds like you may be able to claim for DLA Mobility. If you need help with your claim, DIAL or CAB would be able to assist.Gone ... or have I?0

As this started with a motor vehicle accident, have you investigated any claim that can be made against the person responsible for the accident?0

What have people become?
Life happens. If you are in 'constant' 'agony' - (very strong terms) then that is very sad.
Why do you want tax payers money for that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!0 -

Sorry for your accident but your post sounds really dubious.
First off you claim the MINOR accident let you in constant agony, but *ahem* if you were in constant agony why did you have s*x then get pregnant? I'd have thought a bit of nookie would be the last time on your mind.
Secondly, the pregnancy itself has let you develop SPD, which also leaves you also in pain. Also, you are a full time mum no doubt running about after another child.
And after 4 years you want some money, perhaps you should contact the driver who was responsible for your accident, or are you after tax payers money to help with family finances.Be happy, it's the greatest wealth0 -

I can't speak for the OP, but for me sex is the best pain relief there is!Gone ... or have I?0 -

I agree welshmoneylover - its just a joke. I am a doctor of 15 years standing working in a hospital. I see this CONSTANTLY. Some are genuine, most are not.
Its a very sad endictment of society today.
Perhaps the OP does have pain. I clearly wouldnt wish pain on anyone. What the hell does she want benefits for? To buy painkillers?0
