I agree welshmoneylover - its just a joke. I am a doctor of 15 years standing working in a hospital. I see this CONSTANTLY. Some are genuine, most are not.
Its a very sad endictment of society today.
Perhaps the OP does have pain. I clearly wouldnt wish pain on anyone. What the hell does she want benefits for? To buy painkillers?
Do you judge your patients so harshly without knowing anything about their condition?
I really hope you are never my doctor!Gone ... or have I?0 -
I made no judgement. In fact I state that the OP may well have pain. I gave you the situation that we sadly see every day in A&E.
I simply said that I cannot understand what the OP wants benefits for? A perfectly reasonable question to ask. A minor car accident in 2008!! Soft tissue damage! Its a 'what can I get society' and lots of people would agree with me. I respect the fact that you may not.
If you saw what I see every week you may change your mind.
You know nothing of my abilities - so why do you really hope I am never your doctor? Very judgemental on your part? In fact you probably do hope I am never your doctor as I would be caring for you on an intensive care unit!0 -
I always thought 'soft tissue damage' meant a ruddy great bruise that showed all colours of the rainbow but eventually subsided after a while.
ps, a good friend of mine is a highly qualified nurse and can spot the 'shirkers' from the genuines a mile off!Be happy, it's the greatest wealth

Correct. "Can I claim some sort of disability benefit" - the standard line & a very big clue.
Soft tissue damage a few years ago. Constant agony?? If, as the OP clearly states, there is no treatment available then it is difficult to see how it is anything other than fabrication. Constant agony is ALWAYS manageable with some form of treatment.
PS - I hope your friend continues to spot the time wasters & helps to divert care & funds to the people who genuinely need medical treatment!
"Can I claim some sort of disability benefit" - I hear it in my sleep!
No wonder the Australians think we are the laughing stock0 -
I smashed my pelvis and lower back (and had crush injuries to that region too and the nerves to both my legs were badly damaged) in a high speed car accident 20 years ago, my pelvis split into five pieces and Ive never been able to walk a step since without pain and crutches since, Im now a fulltime wheelchair user because of the damage to my shoulders and hands by crutch use and I managed to have a child which left my doctors extremly surprised WML, I had daily help to raise him and couldnt have managed without that help, no one could with my disabilities.
I was seeing a othopod prof. and he asked me how I got pregnant, I replied the normal way and he couldnt work out how because my pelvis has never healed and it is still in three pieces.
OP do you go to a pain clinic?
Managing your pain will do much more for you than money but if you think that you may qualify for DLA, apply.
My pain was made bearable by a combination of drugs until I got RA, I use a combination of patches, pain killers, drugs that work as nerve painkillers, anti-spasmotics and none drug therapies. When I find the right drug for my RA my pain regime may need altering but for now Im in severe pain and I certainly cant cope with my 16 month old grandson alone, even for a short while.
I do get DLA, high rate for both componants indefinatly.0 -

No wonder the Australians think we are the laughing stock
The rest of the world laughs at us, as we are a magnet for their "sick" too.RENTING? Have you checked to see that your landlord has permission from their mortgage lender to rent the property? If not, you could be thrown out with very little notice.

So true MissMoneypenny.
Some people NEED to be supported. I am very happy to pay my tax and support them.
MANY people are a complete joke. The number of people in this catagory in this country is rocketing. The dictionary definition of adversity should have a sub entry for the UK as it appears it has been re defined by our population.
If the OP would like to elaborate on the 'constant agony' this minor accident a few years ago has inflicted her with, I may well be able to offer her some good advice.
I am still mystified as to WHY she needs 'some sort of disability benefit'0 -
