I agree with all posters who say that the Bic will not run out. From personal experience in college and currently in Uni, I've never run out of ink in a Bic, they always seem to get lost, get lent to someone who doesn't return them, even dry up, but even essay after essay, I have never had a Bic that has run out. I guess you could use a syringe to extract the ink, or get some robot (the ones in IKEA that open and close drawers to test durability) to continuously write for days until the ink runs out.

I bought my pack in Tesco for £3. I have so far run out 3 in 1 day, whacking them all together with a rubber band and scribbling hard on a notepad whilst I am doing other things such as waiting to pick up my girlfriend from work, watching tv, waiting for the kettle to boil etc. Given that you have just over half a year to empty them, it isn't much effort and if you are doing other stuff anyway at the same time, it is a big bonus for the sake of a bit of hand movement at the same.

This statemnet from the T&C' ""BIC reserves the right to amend or cancel the terms of this offer without notice." is good enough reason to not bother. This is the kind of thread that stays at the top of the forum for ages,& BIC arnt going to be able to honur this ,Self bankrupcy

As someone else said, it's clever marketing by BIC - for every 1 person that manages to bleed a pen dry and claim £10, there will be about 100 people who give up after a few weeks, lose the pen etc.

The increase in purchases will more than make up for the amount they have to pay out in claims.

Happy memories of "writing lines" at school detention.

Happy in that you felt you had got 2/3rds of one over on the !!!!!! who had given you the detention.:D (You could get on and finish your home work when you had recovered from wrist cramp).

Does school detention, let alone writing lines, still exist?
