I really can't see why, when this happens, that the system can't be set up to handle the possibility that a payment request is already in the pipeline, and thus the second payment request be stopped. At worsted all that should happen is any differences between the first payment at the actual cost of the shopping be rectified. The fact that the supermarkets operate this way is just poor system design.
