yep, we have had alsorts of weather. Im so worried about him.

That is true, yeah people were scared he was going to bite, but one woman jus sat in the kitchen window watching him "dance" around her
    garden!

There was 2 other ferrets missing at the time (not mine) & they was found, im so unlucky.

I did try asking pont n cas, they wanted a shocking amount of money
to put a little ad in their paper.

He was last seen in cobblers area :)

First-endless sympathy and good hopes for the ferret owner. This is what we found worked in retrieving ours from his walkabouts-
a)RSPCA 24 hour lost pet helpline
    b) Finding out where there were local ferrets (the local petshop can give an indication based on purchase of ferret food!)Lost ferrets often end up where there are other ferrets.Ours used to do this although he never liked his own kind
c)Dog walkers and kids are very good spotters of lost animals

Ours could have written a children's book about his adventures but he died peacefully of old age

I do wish both ferret and owner well.

    hi thanks, eira.

He is logged with rspca hotline so if he is picked up they have him down on computer as missing.

I have contacted all local ferret owners & they are also going to keep an eye out, dont have a local petshop realy though.

Kids have been looking for him since the day he went (they saw him first day and one of them went to pick him up but thought he was going to bite) As I told em theres a reward, theyre still looking now, bless em. I asked most people who walk their dogs on the park too.

Ah right, I can see the hill to go up Cobblers from my house ... I'll keep going up that way en route to town to see if I can spot anything and I'll tell Dad too ... I'm sure he will mention it to his driving pupils too if I ask him. I'm not sure if he is taking anyone up there for lessons but the more people who know, the better!

I am disgusted with the Pont and Cas ... surely they could have popped a couple of lines in just as a favour? If it had been a pedigree flaming dog, you can bet they would have .... grrr @ them.

What about sticking a postcard in the shops up Cobblers? It's ages since I was up there, but I mean the ones before the pub? And if you know any taxi drivers too you might tell them to keep an eye out and promise em a few pounds for a couple of pints if they come across him!

I'd also stick a postcard up on the board of the pet shop in the inside market in town (the bloke opposite the carpet stall) and then there's the petshop at Racca Green ... she has all manner of ads stuck on her door and she gets a lot of people in who have ferrets too.

If they still have the boards up in Morrisons I'd put a postcard up there too.

I'm still shaking my head at the Pont and Cas .... I mean, it's supposed to be our local paper, for us, for the community ... hey, just a thought ... what about contacting Calendar? (It's just come on the telly which is what made me think of it!) that's supposed to be a local magazine bulletin show ... they ask you to contact their newsdesk if you have anything, so why not contact them and see if they would mention him and ask people to keep an eye out?! I'd give it a go! They often have animal stories on and you never know, someone might just watch it and then spot him or know someone who has taken one in who may be yours!!)

    thanks so much :D

Its so weird as everything you've suggested ive done, indoor market, morrisons, shops, contacted radio's (they wernt intrested either)
And the petshop at knotla i rang yesterday and shes going to keep
    her ears open.

I would contact calendar but I realy dont want to be on the news. LOL

Yes im disgusted with pont n cas aswell. They wanted near enough 70 quid!! I cant afford that, im at college!

Supermarkets are a good idea.I've tried pubs and petrol shops too. Pictures attract attention-I downloaded a very cute picture with 'I am missing' underneath-the cutesy image seems to raise the ferret-is-a -pet profile.People either can't identify them or are afraid they bite. Another thought is that they sometimes gravitate towards houses with animals they live with (e.g. cats and dogs)

Ours wandered for miles-and he was always so pleased to be found

Just the thought of a lost ferret is heartache in a jar. All the best-the microchip is a real plus point (worth trying vets too-they have a lost animal book in most surgeries)

thanks I rang loads of vets, even vets a few miles away.

I didnt put a picture on the posters, because i was in a rush & i didnt know if it'd make him look "cute" so people would want to keep him.

Hes been missing about 4 week now :( Like you say, he could be miles
    away by now.

Sorry, only just got around to checking the thread again :o

Hi Riley01. Glad you found the forum and have posted :D

Riley, do you know any taxi drivers well? Yorkiepud mentioning his/her dad being a driving instructor, gave me an idea. A little 'missing' postcard on the back window of a taxi would be a great way of getting the word out there. Or, if not a taxi driver, do you know anyone self employed that often drives round different local areas in a car/van?

He is still missing, someone somewhere must know where he is!
