I will be moving from o2 to t-mobile in the next few days, Im just waiting for my PAC code. I was wondering once I have received my PAC code will it be easier to call t-mobile or to go into one of their stores or does it not make any difference?

Thanks

Has t-mobile told you their policy on using the PAC code?

Do you mean on how it is only valid for 30 days.

PAC is always valid for 30 days, i was think more about how you are meant to use it.

With vodafone you have to do it at the point of sale.
With orange you do it online when the new sim card arrives. (Instructions in the box)

T-Mobile should give you instructions about how to use it.

I went on their site and all they said was:

    Transferring your number is easy

    Just follow these simple steps
    1. First up, if you pay your bill monthly check whether you're still under contract with your current service provider. It's a good idea to check this out, because cancellation charges may still apply.
    2. If you haven't done so already, buy a new phone or get a FREE SIM from us.
    3. Get in touch with your old service provider and ask for a PAC code.
    4. Call us on 08454 123123 and give us your PAC code. Or call Customer Services on 150 from your handset.
I have already sent o2 a email asking for my PAC code so im just waiting for it before I do anything else. What do you think would be easier for me to do when it comes to me getting my PAC code, shall I go in one of t-mobile stores to get them to transfer my number or call them

Once you get the code from 02, going into branch will probably take longer as all they do is ring up customer services on your behalf.

    Do step 4.

Give customer services a ring and they will be able to give you the information you need on your free package and pac info.

Yeah it takes about 2-3 days, for me the transfer took just a few minutes. Text messages should arrive to the old then the new phone, and th old phone will then stop. Its advised to reboot both phones once the transfer is completed.

It is possible that on the day of the transfer text messages arrive at both of your phones as the operator systems get into sync.
