Any recommendations for "cheap" homepage on Tesco PAYG?
I've just moved across to Tesco PAYG and have changed my settings to the Tesco mobile ones but to get to the Tesco WAP page (my current homepage) is costing me about 20p (out of my free credit at the moment) and giving me no useful information.
Can anyone recommend an ok homepage which I could set which is not very data hungry but would give easy links to say news headlines and sport headlines?
Thanks in advance.

Download OperaMini Its designed for PAYG mobiles with no data plans. All internet data is compressed by Opera servers before downloaded to your phone so the data traffic is kept to a minimum and you can view most websites in desktop or mobile view, so you don't lose web content. The only downside is you need a Java enabled phone, but most phones are these days.
Give it a try, you'll be surprised compared with the built-in browser.0 -

Thanks I might well give this a try - I know nothing about other mobile browsers so will do a bit of research before installing it on my phone.
One question though, as I probably will install it I clicked on your link and selected my phone (decided to download via pc to save data charges) and it came up with 2 files for Opera Mini 5 - one is a .jad file and one is .jar. It says download them and transfer to the mobile via Bluetooth or USB. Sorry to be thick but do I need both files and what do I do?
Thanks for any help.0 -

Download the .Jar file to your phone, find it on the phone (wherever you saved it to), click 'Install' or 'Run' or 'Open' etc and follow the steps. It should then install it into your Games or Applications folder, and you can run the program from there. One question though, as I probably will install it I clicked on your link and selected my phone (decided to download via pc to save data charges) and it came up with 2 files for Opera Mini 5 - one is a .jad file and one is .jar. I sometimes use it on a random Nokia 6500s I have lying about, and it is, imo, by far the BEST mobile browser, for the phone, out there. It is so good that I use Opera on my PDA, and Opera is now my main internet browser on my desktop. I highly recommend it.The quickest way to become a millionaire is start off as a billionaire and go into the airline business.

As we dont know what phone you have or the method you use to transfer files to your phone. I would recommend downloading it direct from your phones default web browser. Just enter the web address http://m.opera.com and follow the onscreen prompts. Its a one time install and well worth the couple of hundred KB it takes to install.
OperaMini is all I use these days as its so much faster than the default browser on my WinMo and Nokia phones.0 -

I have a Sony Ericsson W580i which was on Orange and so has Orange World on its main menu which I don't think I can get rid of unless I get it debranded - unless someone knows better.
Think you may be right about downloading direct to the phone so will download it directly later and try to install it.

I only want to have the occasional look at news headlines/sport and don't really want to be paying £2 every week. Thanks anyway.0
