thanks for the reply johnny was hoping for someone who had owned both cars. From the reviews I have read the citroen sounds a better car with less problems :) I have had 2 fiestas one a 53 reg and one a 57 reg and had pretty serious problems with both so have been put off fords, the OH wont consider a Skoda....and not really a fan of Astras.

i would not touch a ford if i was paying myself.

i have had a company transit connect 1.8tdci on 57 reg since new nothing but problems,2xalternators,2x snapped accelerator pedals, major dead spot when changing gear that ford cannot fix also had 14 tyres in 53k miles.they kil the tyres i do not drive like a loon just carry a bit of weight but never had the same tyre problems on other vans i have had.

also skoda are better built cars than french stuff but it all depends on your budget, you will get newer with fewer miles french car compared to older higher mileage skoda for same money.
as i said the c4 for a french car is actually not a bad motor the citroen cars do seem a lot better these days.

You don't like British, you don't like French but some of them are better than others, and you are talking vans not cars.

Plus if you had "14 tyres in 53k" then you have the problem, not the manufacturer? :wall::wall::wall:
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed

oh dear have i upset a ford fan??

who said i do not like british or french?
i was merely pointing out to op i have in the past had a megane and a c4 and in my opinion why the c4 is a better car,i did not say i do not like british or french.
i may well be talking about a van but fords i have had previously have been poor and put me off them for good.
as for the 14 tyres in 53k the problem is actually down to the van i think you will find it is down to the suspension set up causing high tyre wear to front when van loaded the tread on rear tyres steps, again due to the suspension set up.my company has a fleet of 10 vans and all have the same problem so does that mean every driver is causing the tyre wear??

how appropriate is your signature for the rubbish you have spouted in your post??

Never had a Ford in my life, driven plenty, and thats why.

If I was your employer and you screwed that many tyres in that many years I'd sack you, and I'd win the appeal. :)

My signature was intended for you :p

van is lease so my employer dont care, the fact is tyres are not wearing out due to abuse.read my post properly you fool rear tyres step due to suspension set up they are not low on tread front tyres wear low due due suspension set up and weight carried.plus with the industry i work in you would find it difficult to sack anyone let alone me for tyres on van,the union would have field day with the likes of you.
the tyre wear issue is normal for a transit connect our fleet all do same thing kwik fit and ATS also say it is normal whenever i have had new tyres.

Boy, you've nailed your colours to the post, the only fool here is the one that thinks what he's just written is of any sense:T

    Thats sad

Ever thought you could be done for overloading then

Unite are going down that track, lets see

You mean someone that can recognise someone that doesn't care?

Any credibility you had went out of the door with that statement:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
