aeuerby wrote:Well having cancelled this guy's bid and emailed him explaining why, he has since been sending emails complaining.
Apparently, we didn't read his question (it was a statement not a question) properly, we jump to conclusions and turn customers away and it's no way to conduct a business.
Apparently because our attitude is poor we should stop using ebay.
Needless to say he is also (and has been since we cancelled his bid) on our blocked bidder list!!
So he was telling you that if he won he wasnt going to pay for a fortnight? How long would a dispute hold up? Do an NPB on day 7?! No, the bottom line would be that I wouldnt accept it - you arent a business (assuming) so dont do buy now pay later - if he doesnt like it then tough. Whats his feedback like - has he done this sort of thing before perhaps?Weight Loss - 102lb0 -
I had someone a few weeks ago, bought an item BIN in my shop then sent me a message: 'I will send payment tuesday' (she bought it on a thursday) i said 'ok thats fine i can wait'. Tuesday came and went and so did another week of no contact. I have just done a NPB on them and they didnt respond so i negged their butt lol.Accept that some days you're the pigeon and some days you're the statue.0

I have had this happen to me before and personally it doesnt bother me (I havent had anyone ask in such a rude manner though).
But hey, a bids a bid and look on the bright side they may be outbid and in that case they have helped push the price up (it only takes two people to want an item for a good sale)

I recently had a buyer who paid and gave me a date to post their item because they were going away. Why can't they pay and you post on a specified date when they return.0

when ever im buying something if its BIN i pay instant. Or if its auction its within 24/48 hrz or as soon as the auction finishes if im at the computer.
bottom line is if u dont have the cash dont bid

Had this happen to me recently, buyer won then asked if he could pay when he got back from holiday, I said fine and he emailed as soon as he got back to say he'd made the payment, lucky for me it worked out.Paid off so far Natwest overdraft £1900 Kays catalogue £200 Personal Loan £2500 Tax Credit £1300 J D Williams
Still to go Barclaycard £880 Sainsburys CC £38.80 Littlewoods CC £208 Vanquis CC £390 Littlewoods Cat £821.38 Next £75.260 -
I have had two of these recently both auctions.
The first one she won the item, i got no contact at all after 7 days opened a NPB, 2 days later she responded apologising because she had been on holiday and thought it would be ok to send payment when she got home  then told me she would send payment the next day. A week came and went yesterday i decided i had, had enough of waiting and closed the dispute and within a minute of me doing so my buyer had been NARU'd
The second, the bloke won the auction an hour later i got an email from him apologising as he hadnt realised that i didnt accept paypal when he bid and he was on holiday in france until today, offering to pay by bank transfer or if that wasnt convenient for me then did i mind waiting until he got home. Needless to say i accepted the bank transfer and it was posted out yesterday to be there in time for when he got home
There is a big difference between asking someone before bidding if its ok and taking it upon themselves to bid and then tell the seller afterwards i think you did the right thing.
