  • I'd resell, but have the money available to refund in case they ever get back in contact. I don't think it's all that likely, though.

I'd write to any address that you have for them - send it recorded etc and see what happens.

You could also ask trading standards what rights you have.

Send them a last warning saying that you are going to dispose of the goods after 30 days if they fail to collect. That should cover you.
  • Out of interest, what was the keyboard?

Re-sell it, but like another poster said, keep the money aside just incase they suddenly appear again !

  • Thanks for all this. Much appreciated. I'll write giving them 30 days, if no answer then resell but put the money to one side for a while.

Oh, and it's an early 80's analogue synth. Classic.

No way! (the reason why I ask is that I have a roomful of synths at home).

I am going to make an inspired guess and say it is a Roland Juno.

I think legally the item would now be yours? Only reason I say this is the postie & parcelmen keep mistaking our address for a house in a road behind us & vice-versa. Parcels always seem to come here by mistake.
Once a HUGE solid mahogany sideboard was delivered here by mistake, I was out & my mum who was babysitting let them deliver it here & signed for it (bless her). When I got in I went round to the right address & popped a note through their door to tell them we had it & to come round to collect it. Over the next couple of months I tried several times knocking on their door - left them countless notes, contacted the company it was purchased from, contacted the delivery company - contacted everyone I could think of ,as this was a big piece of furniture (still all packaged up) taking up space I didn't have. Eventually I was told by the delivery company that if all efforts to contact the owner had been made to no avail I could then, after 6 months dispose of it as I saw fit.

I don't know what delivery company that was but the info they provided sounds as reliable as the service they provided, if they delivered it to the wrong address the duty is on them to retrieve it not the owner or vendor.

As for the property being yours to dispose of after six months this sounds like a reference to the unsolicited goods act which would not apply in your particular case as the items it would appear from your post were not addressed to yourself and therefore the act would not apply.
