Dream on. A handheld device operating at 2.1GHz with < 5w of power and a printed circuit antenna is not going to get anywhere near to that range even in ideal conditions - unless those conditions happen to be free space of course. You may find it unlikely, but it is true, under optimum conditions obviously. I think GSM has a fixed maximum range of about 40km.0 -
Last week I had big connection and speed trouble; since yesterday I have my old service back. I am just using my USB dongle now, not the old, flat one (I got this after a fantastic tip on MSE). I don't know why Three give and take, but just hope that the good service lasts.
Chris is right: I do live in the middle of a big city. However, I do use 3 BB outside and it works well, even in the Worthing Seafront Travelodge (£9 per night like a good MSE person).
At its best it is ideal for me; at its worst it is usable but very frustrating, and dangerous if you are doing anything important.Who having known the diamond will concern himself with glass?

Eh?, then why does mine still fall back to Orange?. In the connection details, it currently clearly says 'Orange GPRS (Roaming) 53.6 kbps'Three used to fall back to Orange 2G but now Three use T-mobile for their 2G coverage
I'd link to a screenshot, unfortunately at a maxiumum of 2 -3 kbps down / upload speeds it would probably take until Xmas to upload the image to a host.
Over 2 weeks now since I lost my 3uk 3G connection....no sign of any repair on the horizon and it won;t happen on a bank holiday weekend so thats yet another 3 days written off. You can turn into a cobweb covered skeleton waiting for 3 to effect a repair, if indeed they ever intend to.
Still confused about the Orange fallback tho"Dont expect anybody else to support you, maybe you have a trust fund, maybe you have a wealthy spouse, but you never know when each one, might run out" - Mary Schmich0 -
Here I am in a three no coverage area according to their website map, 5 miles away from the nearest 3 mast surfing at 2Meg on three!
Just shows how naff their coverage map is - No service in places that are good and plenty of service in a place where there is none!0
