Pixmania are infamous for having rubbish customer service. ESPECIALLY when things go wrong.

Basically, they will add a cost for the repair, and if you do not pay it, you will not see your TV again. There will be nothing you can do about it either, without going through the French legal system, as they are not here, but on mainland Europe.

I know it is too late for you but once burnt I now always do a bit of research about a company before I purchase anything online you learn by your mistakes, I hope you get it sorted with better service than I did.

After my experience with Pixmania I bought my TV from John Lewis, they were competitively priced and give a free 5 year warranty.
  • This is outrageous, firstly Pixmania have told you that you will not incur costs and have then back tracked.

Whilst I've always thought that it was unfair consumer laws were aimed at retailers rather than manufacturers it is the responsibility of the retailer to feedback to the manufacturer for persistently poorly manufactured items and stop selling them.

However the only way consumers can seem to win is to be belligerent.

Good luck with your TV repair and future complaints, having a TV break after 15 months is poor.

Well its 16:30 and I have not heard back from them, surprise surprise! I called this morning and was assured I'd definately hear back from them today, but as they close in 30 mins I seriously doubt it.

I have sent them an email, even that wasn't easy as their stupid web form limits you to only 500 characters so I sent it in 3 parts. I received an auto-responder saying they'll get in touch within 24 hours. By that time they will have my TV as it is scheduled to reach them tomorrow, its already in Paris now.

I think the fun and games have commenced! lol

Thanks for all the support guys, round 2 begins tomorrow!

Not true if your company is French & operates in the UK then UK law is applicable!

I agree, in my experience they compete well with online companies plus you have the peace of mind incase anything goes wrong with the telly:T

Thats not actually true but your not far off

Does it matter anyways? French law offers suitable protection also and will be met with far less resistance.
    Back by no demand whatsoever.

    Just a quick update....

I called them yesterday and they received the TV on Tuesday and are waiting for an engineer to inspect it.
I asked again about the warranty situation and the guy I spoke to said YES IT HAS A 2 YEAR WARRANTY! and as long as it wasn't accidently damaged they will repair it free of charge. I asked for that in writing and I received an email from them saying, "This email is to confirm that your TV is covered by a 2 year warrenty."

Fingers crossed it all works out and we get out telly back in time for the world cup!

Isn't Pixmania part of the DSGi group (Dixon's, Currys, PC world..) so how did they manage to get around this with French law?
:exclamatiTo the internet.. I need to complain about something!
