I don't know too many places where you get something for nothing.....JSA is one of those things! However.......shouldn't you be getting income assessed JSA if you are in fact, looking for work and able to go on interviews/accept work? Even beinig 20 yrs old, available for work and fulfilling your contract, and living with parents - you would get means assessed JSA.

if the OP failed the labour condition then theyre obviously deemed not to be looking for work and so no entitled to JSA

Thanks Nanny - I guess the point I was trying to make was that it's up to the OP if they qualify for means tested JSA - if they're prepared to look for work and fulfill thier conditions, then likely no problem given their age and living arrangements. However, it sounds more like they just want something for doing nothing.

My daughter, then eighteen, had a short spell on JSA last year after leaving sixth form. Every fortnight, when she signed on, she took in a list of places that she had applied to. JC+ advised her that they expected her to apply for three jobs between the fortnightly signing on appointments. Hardly difficult!

Luckily my daughter was keen to work and applied for many more than the requirement. She gained employment within two months, I think from a combination of luck and hard work (tailoring applications to particular jobs, constantly searching, signing up to agency websites, etc)

My son recently did the same Kingfisherblue - he was shocked that it was 'three attempts at looking for work' over a two week or one week period. He thought that probably three times that amount per day was a more reasonable attempt at finding work, and was working within three weeks as well. Not his ideal job, but a job until he can get more experience, references and get into what he really wants.
