Hi Guys,
Wedding is days away - as in 23. We still have no alcohol stock and as we are supplying the bulk of it, we really need to get our fingers out.
OH is looking at Majestic but I am wondering if there is a cheaper way to do this. Can you help?
Is there any deals out there that you know of or just a supplier that will leave our empty pockets thankful?
We are mainly looking for wine, champagne and Pimms! Oh and still and sparking water

Quite often the supermarket offers are better than that of wine suppliers.
Also, last summer Sainsbury's had their own version of Pimms ("Pitchers") on sale for half the price of Pimms. IMO it tastes identical!0 -
Pimms is on offer at £11.40 (70cl) until 8/6 in Sainsburys which is a very good price.
Instead of champagne I'd go for cava if it's for a toast as no one will know the difference when it's in glasses. Again Sainsburys has some good offers, although I'm not sure their half price wines are genuine offers.
I'm going to suggest having a look at M&S for wine. I used to work there and all their wines are top notch and they've won numerous awards. Their wines of the month are £2 off, so you could get a £6.50 wine (genuine price not bumped up for 2 weeks beforehand like the others do) for £4.50. You then get 10% off when buying 6. That would give you some really nice wines (and a refreshing change from the generic supermarket offerings) for just over £4 a bottle.0 -
Tesco does Jeeves which is about £5 a bottle and is their own Pimms brand. Drank A LOT of Pimms in my life and I can't tell the difference! Sainsburys too does the same for a little bit more than Tesco.
Also Tesco at the moment has got a few wines on there 3 for £10 deal (£3.33 each) but they also have 6 for £19 now (£3.16 each)
Im only doing Cava instead of champagne, its being poured by the waitresses first and then taken around, so no one will ever see the bottles, and none of our guests would tell the difference I reckon.LBM January 2017 £34k will have paid back finally by my DFD May 2021got my first store card on my 18th birthday, never known a life without the grey cloud of debt looming over me. 18yrs and the end is finally in sight 🤩0 -
Tesco wines online shop have some good deals, we recently got 24 bottles of Kumala delivered for £80 (there is a £10 off voucher for your first purchase)0
-
Asda have lots of wine in 3 for £10.
Dont get proper champagne either just get sparkling wine. What matters most is how well you walk through the fire0 -
We have Cava from M&S which was on a glitch a while back, but its definately a good alternative to champagne.
All wine was bought from sainsburys when it was on buy 6 save 25% - but I think they always have an offer of buy 6 save 5%?
If you get some of the nice ones that are offer you can normally get a good deal. Plus you can use nectar vouchers (or clubcard at Tescos) and if you buy online they ofter have voucher codes for £10 off etc
Good luck ...............!!0 -
If you have time (and depending on where you live) you could do a day trip to Calais or Boulogne then wine and sparkling wine is a lot cheaper - you should go to the supermarkets like Carrefour or LeClerc or even better Le Mutant or the wine warehouses.
You can get very decent red and white wines for as little as the 2 euros and decent sparkling for around 2.50. Proper champagne is sometimes a bit cheaper depending on the brand but the best bargain recently was the Tesco Premier Cru which was on offer. I drink a lot of champagne (my only treat) and it was better than Moet and many others.
www.daytripper.net have all the details of where to go
We will be doing this for my daughters wedding next year.
If you cant get to France then there is a website called www.quaffersoffers.co.uk which lists all the special offers on wines which is useful.
Dont forget places like Lidl or Aldi for unbranded tastealikes ie Pimms0 -
We got JP Chenet 3 for £10 at tesco plus you get 5% off when you buy 6.Bump due 22nd September0

I've always wondered if it's worth doing a booze cruise. Doesn't paying for all the travel etc cancel out the savings you make?0
