And welcome to the world of lusamoel who has supposedly just qualified as an ADI who still has a lot to learn and calls an experienced Grade 6 driving instructor stupid, which only makes you look ridiculous and does nothing to recommend you as an ADI, your attitude hardly gives out a good impression of the profession.

So when a pupil casually says one day 'I have my own car which is insured for me to learn in do I have to do anything about my insurance when I pass my test' you are just going to say I am not here to have a laugh I am only here to teach you driving, very helpful.

It appears from this thread that I have a damn site more knowledge about insurance than you, if you read my post I did say I am no expert but it is at least advisable to have some basic knowledge as whether you want to believe it or not you will at some time get asked questions, but if you want to look stupid then thats your problem.

Oh and pupils ask for advice and you advise them, or in your case not.

and why would they want to switch insurance after their test?

Once again showing your lack of knowledge if you read these forums there are plenty cases where insurance companies increase their premiums massively when someone passes the test, consequently people can and do look for cheaper policies.

Family planning? Pension advice? Travel guidance? Fashion advice? Cooking tips? Sports predictions? Best ways to bribe a driving examiner?

    :D

They are just some of the easy subjects you can get asked questions about.:D

Of course you do not know what my profession was for 30 years before becoming a driving instructor, so I could be highly qualified to answers any of those questions for all you know.:)

as occasionally you would get asked by pupils, especially older ones, questions about insurance costs and more specifically how and when to switch insurers after they had passed a test.

"I would guess this is an individual thing, you may have felt comfortable offering advice on insurance other instructors may have felt it was beyond their remit. Conversly I wouldn't ask an insurance broker to teach somebody to drive a car.

Grade 6 W0W thanx for putting me in my place you are god of course.
It was not just me who thinks you were a little Ignorant saying the above.
If they asked me then i would say phone your insurance company to check, Like most normal People/adi's would do. I would not for 1 moment go into prices as you would, as i have no clue on prices Like You Do.
But of course YOU being perfect AND a grade 6 (did i mention WoW>?)
Would know the costs and as you say specifically when to switch after they had passed their tests. FYI Being a grade 6 does not make you better than ANYONE else it just means you BU11Sh1T more as everyone on here can tell. have a nice day & Save ya breath for the gullible pupils u have/had.
Advise Pupils on what you know (dont make out your better than them by Feeding them a load of waffle) to make your self look Good, grow up, get a life, and start writing fairy tale books. youll make more money and well suited.

Well, at least this thread hasn't degenerated into a petty argument then.
