Ahhh I see. I didnt note it was an annual payment. I pay monthly, know its due for renewal at the same time as the tax so I kind of look out for it!

    Good luck with the test.

Was your driving instructor also an insurance broker then?

Although not claiming to be an expert on insurance as a qualified ADI for several years who ran his own driving school I found it at least beneficial to have a reasonable understanding of car insurance, as occasionally you would get asked by pupils, especially older ones, questions about insurance costs and more specifically how and when to switch insurers after they had passed a test.

I would guess this is an individual thing, you may have felt comfortable offering advice on insurance other instructors may have felt it was beyond their remit. Conversly I wouldn't ask an insurance broker to teach somebody to drive a car.

Not a case of feeling comfortable, a pupil is paying you teach them about driving which includes the legal requirements so as insurance is one of those it is advisable to at least have a little knowledge of how it works, I am not a car mechanic yet as part of the test I had to teach people basic car maintenance.

You would be surprised what questions a driving instructor can get asked.;)

Family planning? Pension advice? Travel guidance? Fashion advice? Cooking tips? Sports predictions? Best ways to bribe a driving examiner?

Every person is an individual case But then YOU KNOWING ALL should know this so person 1 and person 2 might be twins living in the same town and both have Way different money to pay. How can you give advise on something you know nothing about?
