Yep, no one per customer sign in my store either. I asked the lady if I could take 2 and she said no problem, so I did.

Hi, please read my comment above somewhere - you can only use the milk bags in this jug as there is a hole in spout so if you put neat stuff in, i.e your juice, will spill everywhere! Liquid needs to be in the bag in the jug. (have tried!) Just pointing out incase you doing a wasted trip to Sainsburys
was just about to go sainsburys but thought id check this thread first to see if people are getting thier jugs but after reading this and your water experiment wont bother now as you are right it would have been a wasted trip thankyou silly sausage x

I asked for 2 and got 2, I brought two bags of milk and it turns out that there was a tiny hole in one of them which I did not realise, until I went home and saw some of the contents emptied itself into my shopping bag. I put the other into the jug and with the lid on, it still leaks everyone. I would rather use the normal ones and pay 6pm more.

I picked one up today from a very handsome chap handing them out at my local store.

I was hoping I could use it as a normal jug, so glad I read the spillage comments before filling it up. It is a bit disappointing that the only milk bags they sell are standard semi skimmed, so no good if you usually buy organic, full fat or skimmed.
My nan used to get her milk delivered in bags when I was a nipper back in the seventies, so it is interesting to see them making a comeback after all this time!

EDIT: Looks like in the original trial back in 2008, full fat milk bags were an option http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/environment/article4093351.ece shame they have decided to re-launch with just the SS option, alienating alot of their potential market

    Ocado/Waitrose have this organic option

Please read my comments in full - my comments were in response to someone who was intending to use them for juice !! I know you are supposed to leave the milk bag in but we were trying to utilise them for times when we didnt have the milk bags!

They currently only do semi-skimmed, but they are going to be doing the other varieties too. Although i don't know when.

EDIT: From a greentech article: The success of the bag and JUGIT (TM) is such that the company is now looking at the possibility of rolling it out further across its milk ranges.

    hi all,
i got my jugit for free and bought a bag of milk; was dubious as to whether it would work, but so far so good! doesn't seem to be any leakage into the jug after the bag is pierced. i'm not hugely bothered by the 6p saving, but i am happy that creates less waste :)
