I love Google Streetview, and this was the first image that came up when randomly exploring Holmewood in Bradford.

Hi, there are some good areas of Bradford and these represent much better value than Leeds..!
The best spots are the BD10 area. Thackley / Idle / Greengates are very much 'up and coming'. They border on to Calverley / Rawdon and Guiseley areas of Leeds which are very pricey. It's 35/40 mins by car to centre of Leeds and about 20 to centre of Bradford (add a bit in rush hour of course). The area has a good stock of nice stone built houses and Victorian terraces. The crime rate is lower than it's Leeds neighbours too. There are some superb restaurants nearby (mainly Indian) and is the spot where Sainsbury's chose to locate their only Bradford store...
It's handy for walks and is surrounded by reasonable countryside and the canal is well used and has some good pubs along the way!
One of the main draws for the area must be the new train station that is being built at Apperley Bridge and is due to be opened in 2012. This will give Leeds centre within ten mins by train as well as Bradford and easy access to Ilkley / SKipton and beyond. This new train station will be only 5 mins away from pretty much all of Idle / Thackley and Greengates. It will be a good place to buy now as i'm sure prices in this area will outperform the rest of Bradford and Leeds...
Hope this helped!0 -
PS, Skipton is lovely too, but a long way out.0
