What can you do with Cream Cheese ?

I know exactly what you mean, omnom - I'm not a fan of very low fat cream cheese either - I bought it once and rapidly decided that I would never do so again!
I think I'd go with the suggestion of adding it to cheese sauce (particularly good for macaroni cheese), or flavouring it with herbs and garlic and stuffing it in a chicken breast - I tried both and found they drowned the basic taste of the cream cheese quite well!Back after a very long break!0 -
It generally doesn't make very good frosting for cakes as the lack of fat content makes it quite runny. As I have found out after continuously adding icing sugar without it thickening!!0

I'd add it to cheese sauce, especially one to go atop lasagne
As this has fallen from the front page of OS, I'll add it to the existing thread to give you more ideas.

Cheese sauce would be my choice too with lots of extra real cheese:D0

Really nice instead of some or all of the milk/cream in an egg-based quiche.0

here is my recipe for no bake cheescake.
For base crush approx 1/2 large pack cheap digestives add to 4oz melted marg, press into base of 8inch tin [spring sided or loose bottomed are the best].
Filling.
Put 1 cubed jelly [value ones are excellent] into a microwavable dish and cook on full for about 20-30secs [depending on wattage], until melted. Add 1/2 pint of cold water and stir until mixed. Leave until the jelly is just setting [getting very gloopy], I pop the bowl into the freezer to hurry this along.
Next put 3/4 packet of cream cheese [value is fine], 1/4pt [small 300ml tub]double cream into a large bowl, and whisk until thick [it is best to use either kenwood chef or electric hand mixer], add the gloopy jelly and mix on full power until the mix has nearly doubled in volume and is light and fluffy.
Lastly scoop topping onto base and chill in fridge until firm about 1 hour.
This cheesecake can be frozen, I have even omitted the base and frozen it in small tubs as a cheescaky mouse.0 -

Hi artichoke,
I usually make a pasta sauce with it but there's an earlier thread with lots more ideas that should help so I've added your post to it to keep the suggestions together.

Hello Art. I would either make a carrot cake and mix the cream cheese with icing sugar for the topping, or make a tomato and vegetable pasta sauce and stir through before serving for a lovely creamy taste!:)Less is more0
