DNMS - I'm glad you've got things under control at home now, I'm sure you're DD will settle soon

OliveOyl - Just being nosy, what is it that Popeye does for a living?

Well today I will try and be productive, I'm at that stage where I'm getting impatient for payday, not because I need the money but because I can't wait to get paying things off! With working things out I think I can make a £175 payment to Evil C1!

I have no database again today so all a bit manic here again! My list for today is:

    - OH ran tumble last night on timer, he's getting the idea although he also left the shower main power on all day yesterday and over night
    - Check banking/CC's - not had a chance yet!
    - Update spreadsheets
    - Snacks/lunch from home
    - Going to So'ton tonight to pick up dresser for friend, he will pay fuel and hopefully get me a maccy d's on the way home!
    - Lots of work in today, must keep focussed!

    Anyway bit manic now
    Jx
Nothing to report as yet...give me a minute...!
  • cheery daff what's ur PhD in? Am so jealous would love to do mine but always something holding me back - frightened about making such a huge committment/not working/having income for such a long time. Always thought once the kids got a bit older and could handle it but things haven't worked out that way in my family - the older they've got the more needy they are of me! And now there's another on the way...

just found 3 jobs I'm going to apply for although one defeats the object as it is much more responsibility - I'm too ambitious and always want more of a challenge but now even though I may want that I also want less responsibility and a simpler life. Ah the internal dialogue on DNMS!

    hello everyone

did a very bad thing yesterday and took a pay day advance loan

Car had gone into garage, they did the repair and it was a bit more than I though and had just no way to access funds any other way. Feel very bad so today have spent morning clicking for all I am worth, making loads of little PAD's and tightening up the whole budget so it can be paid off next month, I can close the account and forget the whole sorry affair.

On the plus side, lost 6lb over the last week (prob stress LOL) have got back to the gym (the £10 a year one at work), been signed off by doc as blood pressure returned to normal and am getting to ride my boss lady's horse for free too whilst she recovers from the stroke.

    thats all for now x

DNM - I was/am no longer on a PhD - I've had various issues with things but the sentence you've said there is so true - I'm now writing up just as an MSc thesis - I finish in Dec.

I've found that the kids need/want me more as they get older - its been horrific deciding to quit/change direction but I think finally I'm a bit happier about it all. I just couldn't juggle it all I'm afraid

I think Cheery's is something to do with transport (?) I did listen honest Cheery!!!

    Think it was Cleosmum... ;)

I am getting quite giddy about my ebay sales. This might be the start of a serious addiction! :rotfl:It's weird that something that has been in a drawer for years and years has caused so much commotion and been bidded up to 5 x its starting price! Woohoo.

Its my day off today and I'm exhausted, I cancelled my morning appointment and stayed in bed till lunch - it was lovely :D

    Today I have / will :
    • Saved £6 bus fares / breakfast by not going into town for appointment(probably more considering i usually wander round shops after ) :o

    • posted ebid item
    • posted letter to hmrc
    • checked banks - got unexpected payment so should just scrape through this month rather than going overdrawn. Also got £8 child tax credits - whats that about , I usually get £40 a week later.
    • check ebay listings - lots of watchers one nice bid.
    • plant out free nurses day seeds in whatever i can find to plant them in :o
    • meal from plan - chicken curry
    • quick rush round to do some cleaning and iron my uniform for tommorow
    • competitions
    • surveys - could do much better if i put in some effort but quite pleased with what i am managing to put towards xmas :)

    I love the shoes too.

Josiebabie, Popeye is a railway engineer - hence the lack of work in the UK.
Plenty of work all over the globe though..........
