I sold a couple of cross stitch chart books the other day and asked the post office lady how much more it would have cost me under the new system. She reckoned on another 80p-£1 per parcel! It's not going to be worth people buying these sort of things on ebay if the postage goes up that much - they'd be better off buying them from a shop.

I'm starting to give more stuff to charity now as I'm finding that I'm making less and less profit after all the fees. And the postage thing is just going to make it more of a burden. I'm currently having to spend a couple of lunchtimes a week queuing for at least 30 minutes in the post office. Can you imagine how the queues will grow?!

If they were trying to make it easy to understand... they failed.

Frankly the RM's site sucks, it's so clunky to navigate.

How hard would it be to make a simple calculator?

    - Which country is your item going to?
    - Which service would you like to use? (1s, 2nd, SD, Airsure, etc etc etc)
    - How much does the package weigh?
    - Which slot will it fit through? (small / large / too big for either)
    - What is its largest dimension?

Instead... (PiP aside) if you want to send something overseas, you have to...

    - Figure out whether it's a small packet, papers, or some other mysterious and vague type of item
    - Work out which 'Zone' it's going to... well honestly
    - Go to a page full of charts, find the right chart, find the right column and get the airmail price
    - Go to another screen and find the airsure fee
    - Add it all together, panic about whether you've picked a price from the wrong column, add to auction and pray someone in the UK buys!

That just proves my point about the site being stupid and clunky and impossible to navigate! I didn't have the faintest clue that existed!
