Hmmm this could be a challenge...
I used to be build PC's myself (stopped and switch to the shiny-ness that is Apple!)
Anyway.. So they say there's bent pins, now you say they are on the edge, usually there's a subtle bit of text above (or around the pins) to identify what they are/do. If they are memory related then there's your problem, if it's something else then we'll see.
As for overclockers, proving the board was damaged before you got it is hard to prove, as is proving you didn't damage it when assembling the goods.
Just had a quick flick of the overclockers forums and it seems someone else had this problem too. Here's Asus's warranty and the relevant part your after in bold:
This Limited Warranty does not Apply to: (“Excluded Circumstances”)
A. Removed, revised, defaced, or damaged warranty seals and/or original factory serial numbers;
B. Damage resulting from improper installation, including, but not limited to, incorrect or insufficient electric power supply;
C. Defects resulting from long-term improper use;
D. Damage resulting from long-term static images displayed (also referred as “Image Sticking”) or improper use;
E. Damage (including cosmetic damage such as scratches, spots, or dents), failure, loss, or personal injury due to misuse, abuse, negligence, improper maintenance and storage, or acts of nature;
F. Damage incurred while being transported or moved by the customer;
Edit: damn web page formatting
Anyway try contacting asus, be polite and treat them with respect. They will at the very least repair the board for alot less then a new one. But if your honest and polite they will RMA the board.
As for overclockers, don't deal with them again:exclamatiTo the internet.. I need to complain about something!0 -
Absoluetley no defective pins and 100% effective quality control!!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:We extensively use LGA socket motherboards which are all produced in the same manor. In the last year our technitions used over 13000 LGA motherboards and not one of them had bent pins, I would say that this fact alone was quite conclusive.

Spelt Technician wrong too!
:rotfl:technitions
Edit:
Wait that letter is from overclockers?
The board is from Asus, every manufacturer does their process in a different way, there's no way in hell overclockers will know what the process is. Overclockers is a retailer, not a semiconductor company, any goods with their branding on it, is simply rebadged from companies who produce OEM stuff.:exclamatiTo the internet.. Thanks, i will try Asus.
There are 2 pins damaged in the middle as well and i could not see how installing a flat chipset would of caused this.
I will let you guys now the outcome but yes i will not use overclocker again.

The emphasis here though is that the onus is on Overclockers to prove it wasn't faulty/damaged when they sold it. Not for Jason to prove otherwise.
Going by the dates in Jason's post it's less than six months old so the burden of proof is on the retailer not the buyer."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

Then what would you guys advise as Overclockers are adamant that they will not pay and there excuse is that is no other board has failed and that proves there case.
Thanks

OC are pretty well known for awful customer service, you can google a dozen threads or more, one here:

Edited to add:
On the thread I linked someone got trading standards involved who called OC in the end. I doubt it would be TS's first or last involvement with the company.
If its any use to you, this is the TS local to Overclockers:

Might be worth giving them a call.Good luck0 -
The only thing you can do is get your own independent report proving that it is a manufacturing fault, pretty difficult in this case imho. Ultimately you take it to the small claims court and let a judge decide.Then what would you guys advise as Overclockers are adamant that they will not pay and there excuse is that is no other board has failed and that proves there case.

He doesn't need that to take it to court though does he? It's down to OC to provide a report to the contrary to disprove the OP's claim."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"
