Cancelling AOL

Hi,
I really am sorry if this has been posted before, I have looked, but have not been able to find anything. However, if there is already a post and I've missed it, I apologise.
I am desperately trying to cancel my AOL account as £15.99 comes out of it each month - it comes out via my debit card. Last month I spoke to my bank and I cancelled my debit card. I therefore asked for a new debit card with a new number so that it could not be taken out again. However, guess what? Yes, you've guessed it, it has been taken out of my account again this month. Are they allowed to do this without my authorisation on a new card with a new number? Is my first option to contact my bank to tell them?
If anybody can help me, I will be eternally grateful as I certainly cannot afford this amount of money coming out of my account each month, hence the reason I advised my bank to cancel my debit card last month and issue a new card with a new number.
Thanks in advance,
-BerzerkerJoe

Hi Penrhyn,
Yes, it sounds obvious that I should have contacted AOL, however, I'd read and heard that cancellation of your account with them is almost impossible - I'd also emailed them a while back to cancel my account, but the money just keeps coming out.
Since I posted the original message I've found out some more information, so I shall try that and see how it goes.0
