Here is a link to the Asperger's Quotient test if anyone wants to take it...

Thanks for that, I only got 29, I sometimes wonder if living with 3 Aspies has affected me, and I'm sure I have had to become more logical and less 'fuzzy' as a result!

I was diagnosed with Asperger's when I was 21. I was told by my mum that I was dyspraxic when I was 15 (my dyspraxia isn't bad enough to warrant a separate diagnosis from the Asperger's, but the clumsiness and coordination problems were noted in the report).

Being diagnosed did help me, as I was able to go on an autism specific course at college that helped me enormously. It also confirmed for me that my difficulties are genuine, and that I wasn't just weak. I'm also one of those people who has to know stuff, being diagnosed stopped me doubting whether I was autistic or not.

My current obsessions are the colour purple, penguins and computing, especially networking. The last one I want to make a career out of :)

Out of curiosity, does anyone know if things like irritable bowel/coeliac disease are concurrent with autism?

I just wondered if the two were associated.

I am not a doctor, in fact I am in the last stages of waiting for a formal Asperger Syndrome diagnosis report to be written and passed to my own doctor and the organisation I work for.

    I am 60!

However, in my estimation, having been stressed beyond breaking point to the point I tried to commit suicide, with IBS being stress related, and Autistics and Aspergers not being comfortable with too much change or stimulus, I guess we/they get IBS from the stress they feel most of the time.

I have to take Colefac when the IBS intestinal cramps get so painful that I cannot concentrate on work.

    My son has it too.
Now looking back at what my son goes through, when I think of my childhood it all kind of clicks into place

how did you go about this as my doc says its not easy to diagnose an adult.
