Lincolnshire is a big county so hard to say what it is like. Suffice to say I moved here 3 years ago and have never regretted it.

It depends if you want to head to the coast, the Wolds or Lincoln itself.

Lincoln has a compact city centre with a good mix of national and individual retailers and of course the Castle and Cathredral. It also has the River going through it so you get a Waterfront, boat rips and a nice dining, cinema nightlife area. Has quite a large student population too.

Spalding / Boston area is very flat and agricultural. Prices for housing can be cheaper here.

Lincolnshire is not densley populated, lots of small villages but many still have, Post Office, Doctors, Pubs, Butchers etc.

Where you live will really be decided on the amenities you need. Do you drive as in some cases public transport is not very frequent. Lots of quiet roads and bear in minds no motorways in the county.

There is a strong community spirit in the area and plenty of clubs for different interests.

    Hope that helps.
Good luck to all who enter competitions.

"Great Britain looks like a old lady riding a pig well Lincolnshire is the 4rse end of the old lady Britain " That sums it up really.

ALTHOUGH IT WAS SAID ABOUT SKEGGY IN GENERAL.

When did you last go to Lincolnshire? I am guessing a long time ago!

OP, mtp123 sums it up nicely - there are some lovely villages in Lincs, and Lincoln and Stamford are very nice towns. I have lived in Skegness for a while, and whilst I would not choose to settle there (or Boston), I would happily live anywhere else in the area.

Do you have any more specific questions - what kind of budget do you have, are you looking for transport links, town/ village etc?
    Gone ... or have I?

"Flat", is the short answer which springs to mind, but it's inadequate because I've never been there, or not for ages anyway.

The local council(s) will probably have a bit on their website aimed at people moving into the area, I was sent some quite useful bits and bobs when we moved 10 years ago (before the days when you just downloaded anything you wanted!)

It's big. Big enough that anything anyone says is likely to be true. And false.

Do you have a more specific area in mind?

We are looking to move to Lincolnshire next year hopefully when oldest has finihsed his A levels & next oldest his GCSEs. In general property prices are good and land is cheaper than most of the country BUT as has been said road network is not the best

Thanks mtp123 and others! vague i know thats because im vague on the area just now, just checking the areas and what are the priorities. Most of it looks like fields and not so tree-y. Liking the sound of structure of Lincoln being old with a river. Also liking the coast but not sure where.
