    Hi OP,

Looks like you've recieved some good tips on here. OH and I realised we were spending too much on entertaining ourselves at the wknd and (with mutual encouragement) we've cut back lots in various ways.

Instead of hitting the pub then taxi home, one of us will drive so it's half the money spent effectively and we end up leaving earlier! Instead of an expensive chinese TO, we've been buying the odd £3 dvd from Tesco or watching a movie on telly and making something yummy at home. I've gotten quite creative with food since I realised I could save on the money I thought I needed to spend to 'entertain' our appetites.

Just spending time together is really fun (feel rather lucky as it hasn't been this way with all the ppl I've dated!) and we have a laugh and a chill out or a bit of fun on the cheap. By just cutting out the expensive bits and replacing them with substitutes we can splash out and get the TO chinese occasionally!

To make things easier, both parties need to be on the same page with this - you might say to your OH that as he works so hard and you want him to enjoy his leisure time, if you guys made slight adjustments you could get to do more in the longrun with the money saved/debts paid off. Spending the money on entertainment won't take the headache of debt/bills/etc away for long. Let him know how hard you're working on MS during the week if he's not aware of it yet, that way he'll know you'll both be working on it together. I'm sure he can't fail to notice all your good deeds though :)

Well done on your hard work during the week - excellent stuff you're up to.

Good wishes with your pull back on spending.
