I did roughly the same amount in my own garden - Close board however I used timber gravel boards and posts tanelized (posts were 6X8 inches thick mind - so very strong) All the materials including a gate and gate furnishings came to £460 it then took me and my mate a day to complete.
So yes I think your price is a bit high - Even if your materials were a £1000 (which they will be knowhere nere) then £974 divied by 2 men for one day £487 each a day!?!!? Minimum - rediculous amount to be honest.

EDIT - Also I nailed every board with a nail gun (IT WASNT PANNELS WHICH TAKES NO TIME AT ALL TO "SLOT" IN) So yeah, 2 men would get that done EASILY in one day

Easily, The only one reason I could think why your quote is so high (apart from them ripping you off :p) Is that you are in London.

I,ve just found the posts on ebay (new) £9.74 each so say you need 21 of these thats £105 (roughly)for your posts 21 panels (Found decent closeboard for £27.77 each) £585 (roughly) then MAX 21 bags postcrete approx £5 bag so another £105 then your gravel boards £6 each = £126
So yor materials after looking at the first quotes through google search comes to £921 make it a grand with any sundries
So yeah £1400-£1500 sounds a lot more like what you should be paying.
Bare in mind the above figures are straight of goolge - the fencing company will be getting huge discounts from theyre suppliers so a lot less than a grand for mats to them.

with 25% off when 4 or more bought :)

worked out cheaper than from merchants :D

  • Hi i am trying to get prices for 50 meters of 2 meter high close board fencing with concrete posts and gravel boards and a 2 meter double leaf gate and was wondering what would be a resonable price for buying and installation

budget/estimating price of close board fencing is about 30 quid per metre.
wooden gates can be anything from 100/1000 quid.
    Get some gorm.
  • would that be for a basic form? is there a big difference in the quality you can get and if so how would that effect the price

it can only be a guide price. there can be various factors at work to push that price up by another 50/100%.
    Get some gorm.
