missold a contract with Orange? URGENT HELP NEEDED!
Last week i rang Orange as a new customer and was offered:
A free HTC Desire, 500mins, unlimited texts and internet (and that any usage over the limit wouldn't be charged) for £32.50 on an 18 month contract which i was delighted with. They didn't have any stock so the girl i spoke to said she'd call me back to sort everything out when stock came in.
A couple of days later she called again and told me it was £30 per month. Great i thought until after i had hung up when i realised she hadn't told me the length of the contract on this call. I rang back and asked about the contract length to which i was told was 24 months. I explained that on my first call to orange, i made it quite clear that i wanted an 18 month contract. She told me she'd made a mistake and that it was £32.50 again.
i got the phone yesterday and this morning i've logged onto Orange's website and looked at 'your account'. This says that i'm on the Dolphin 30 plan with 500 minutes on a 24 month contract. If this is correct then i'm furious. What should be my next step?

You have at least 7 days to return the phone and cancel the contract. You can also ask for the terms to be changed to what you want but demand a copy of the new term in writing or send the phone back0

When i called them i was told i would be put on the Dolphin 40 package for £32.50 like i agreed.
I was then called yesterday whilst at work and told this would cost me £37.50 which is not what i agreed. The advisor didn't ring me back and was unavailable when i called them. I'm furious now and really need some advice please0 -

Send the phone back and cancel the contact. I doubt you will sort out this mess in 7 days with written proof.
This kind of selling is getting rife with the mobile networks, they're all trying on. its just that some ( Vodafone spring to mind ) are worse then others.
There are better deals out there for the Desire that dont involve all the Orange kak and branding that bogs the phones down.0 -
It's over 7 days since i've had it

Where do i stand?0 -
Have you called Orange CS and checked what the system says you're on? The website isn't always up to date (you could be on a 24 month contract reduced to 18, that that might not show correctly on the web).
If it is wrong, ask for a team leader and get them to go through the notes on your acc and see if that sorts it out.0 -
As above I have an Orange internet dongle, Iv recently had terrible internet speeds even though there are no faults reported and I can see the mast from my window, so they reduced the amount I pay, fair enough.
Its a 12 month contract, however my online billing shows it as an 18 month contract, so online isn't always right.0 -
Unfortunate as it is, its your fault for not checking the terms. When the woman rang back, she offered you a completely different plan and you went for it. You had 7 days to change your mind but you didnt act quickly enough. Ring 150 again and let them know your problems, I'm sure they'd be willing to help you out!!0
