he was caught driving a car and was given 7 points for driving uninsured and on provisional licence
Sounds like the little toe-rag shouldn't be on the road anyway.I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.0 -

Well said, totally agree! :T0 -
But wouldn't he know he's banned before he takes his test ? They would have written to him. But there is a difference of opinion on here and he should contact the dvla directlyExcel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?0 -
Hardly sounds like a deterrent. You commit a driving offence, but because you don't have a licence yet, you're not really punished.0

Why?
The system is that newly passed drivers are on 2 years probation, and if they hit 6 or more points during that 2 year period they get their licence revoked.
(And 6 or more points on your licence prior to passing your test don't mean you are immediately revoked - you get one more "life", so if you manage to avoid any points during the 2 years probation you won't suffer a revocation)0 -

I think often they go for wierd points arrangements because certain charges have greater punishments - i.e. a 14 year old gets a 2 year ban so that they can go for a greater charge, even though the ban alone is pointless.Nothing I say represents any past, present or future employer.0 -
The definitive response from the dvla...
