I think you are probably right. There are two wild cards - the Europhobe Right of the Conservative Party and the Europhile Left of the Lib-Dems.

Either could turn Taleban and self-detonate at any point, which makes it a highly unstable mix.

I know your right because MP's seem to worried about who they can slag off the best rather than actually doing anything.....but we shall see

It would be nice if it worked each party keep the other on the ground.

The Yellow Pox is a disease. Cameron had to let himself get raped by Clegg to secure power - quite how the two sides will cope with the marriage I don't know.

    cleggeron. they're the new brangelina.

We, the electorate, wanted a hung parliament.

If I have faith in anything (and god knows I have no faith left in politicians) I believe in the democratic process.

We, you and me, have lost trust in the labour party but we can't quite bring ourselves to believe in the tories.

We live in a country in economic and moral tatters. We are mired in an illegal war and we are tuppence away from bankruptcy.

We were offered power hungry pygmies at the election and we did the best we could to force them to work together and limit the damage they could do as individuals.

It may not work. TBH it likely wont. But the thought of any of them with a free hand for the next few years makes my blood run cold

WHy do you think the war in Afghan is Illegal?? a serious question

(remember we're not at war WITH Afghanistan only IN Afghanistan two big differences)

It's possible, but unlikely. It's in noone's interest to bring any coalition government down and have an early election, especially given the state of the economy. I believe that the coalition, if approved by the Liberal grandees, will be a lasting one. There will certainly be disagreements, and internal dissent, but as long as the leaders work well together, they can see it through.

I think this all confirms that as much as a try to understand (not all that much to be honest) I'll never understand politics.

    So:

    Clegg as deputy PM:

LibDems agree to drop the mansion tax
Tories agree not to raise inheritance tax to £1m
    No rise in National Insurance
    Immigration cap to be implemented
No joining the Euro for the lifetime of this parliament

Politics is the art of the possible, or rather, of making possible things happen. Think about it.

Recently opened papers from 1940 have shown that even Churchill was contemplating a deal with Hitler in 1940, until he was convinced that the latter was deranged and would lose the war on his own accord - which is exactly what happened.

That's a feature of our present electoral system.

If you think it is mad then vote for a change to the system.
If it’s not important to you, don’t consume it

Pretty good going. Comprehensively lose an election and wind-up as Deputy PM.

And the chattering class wonders why voters are cynical.
