Ok its war - I obviously have broken the law & I know the true answer but following 2nd ticket (60mph changed to 30mph on dual carriage & i missed it, the signs had been nicked on 1 occaision !) I am considering buying 1 of these (I dont have a sat nav) I need my license to work .

Do they work all the time or mostly ?
    Which is best/any reccommendations ?

Not wishing to infuriate anyone I do generally keep to 30 - crawl past schools & am considerate to animals /Oaps & most others !

I have a road angel pro after having the road angel 2, works all the time, my brother has the road angel 9000 and rarely uses it, he got nabbed the other week.
Yes you have to pay a subscription but that is better than paying a fine and points, almost everyone has exceeded some speed limit at sometime, so as long as you didn't kill or injure anybody and not driving recklessly, then don't listen too much to the preaching :D

Great thanks everyone - I have Microfusion Roadangelpro snooper & Inforad on the list too check out as a 2nd line of defence against the b"£$^%*s.

I am of course confident that the new government will be photographing & recording our movments less & generally returning our civil liberties & freedoms so of course it wont be needed !

Speed doesn't kill people, poor drivers do (including those who drive excessively slowly).

  • As to "don't speed". That would be alright if limits hadn't been revised downwards pretty much everywhere by people not qualified to do so.

Who are these 'unqualified' people revising speed limits?

I have a snooper S4R and can highy recommend.
It does not use GPS but detects radar bands from the speed camera. it also detects laser.

    Quite.

And that's before the greedy local council gets up to its tricks. I'm put in mind of one stretch of busy road where the council changed the limit between 30 and 40 every few hundred yards. At every change there was a camera.

As the Americans say, go figure ...

OK, so maybe your council didn't get it right if the speed limit is changing so frequently. What do you think would work better (for all road users) - a consistent 30mph? Speed limits can be reviewed.

Regardless of the politics or morallity of speeding and detectors, I don't think you will find a single unit that will detect all types. And certainly not one that you could risk your job to.

Take the risk of speeding continuously and you will get caught, if you don't have an accident 1st, take it a little steadier and those 2 detectors positioned below your brow should pick up all types. ;);)
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed

Thanks to all - 1 question can the gps based systems detect the camera van parked up or lone ossifer hiding behind a tree ?
Also do snooper type systems pickup all cameras as well as say roadangel (updated)

    Cheers
  • GPS isn't going to find a van at the side of the road but it might alert you of places they commonly hide in, I mean enforce.
Nothing to see here, move along.
