Thanks for all of these sugguestions - we are already holding car boots/quiz nights/concerts/coffee mornings - we have also done quite a major press release locally. I have checked out the WREN website - which directs us to our local friends of yorkshire churches - but everything that I read seems to assume that any church applying will be a historic building that is hundreds of years old! The building is only 50!!0

you could have a slave auction where you recurit people who have a skill cutting lawns washing cars computer repair just a few and then auction that person off to raise cash0

Not sure if this will be of any use to you but its an idea for the pot.
Over the weekend we went to a local fund raising day at a fire station, mainly because the station was open and my daughter wanted to see the station and engines and talk to a fireman. All they had there fun wise was a 200 foot bungee jump that you had to be sponsered to take part on. Not sure how much you had to raise to get on it but the bungee was rammed for the 2 hours i was there. It was constant streams of people up and down. They must have raised a fortune for the Fire Cadets.
They charged for members of the public to jump also who didnt have sponsership and the fire station took a cut of that money as well. They also charged £2 a time to just go up to the top of the bungee jump in the cage, that was very busy also, again they took a cut of that too. An option for you maybe if you want a lot of cash quickly.0
