The banana walnut cake finished its program half an hour ago. Just cut some slices up. It smells fab and taste even better. This is the best 14.99 I ever spent I think. Would recomend it to everyone

    Hi

I can't find anywhere else to put this so am hoping maybe someone here can help. I have a breadmaker ( my second - wore the first one out :) ) but every loaf I cook seems to sort of burst open at the top. I thought perhaps it was too much liquid or flour etc and tried to change the recipe accordingly. I have followed the recipe to the letter and then tried an old recipe but the bread always comes out the same even on the longer programs. Can anyone suggest a 2lb loaf recipe I could try to see if perhaps it is the book that is wrong? The family are all complaining about lack of crusty bread and jam :)

I cant help you with this problem since I'm new at the breadmaking bit, but perhaps if you have a look at this thread you might find your answer there.

I have been making bread ( 4 to 5 loaves a week) in my Panasonic for the past 3 years .I have found that I get the best results with Lidl's Bread Flour and it only costs 49 pence . For yeast I use Sainsbury's Fast Action Dried yeast.

I made this too but found that the flour didn't mix fully (seemed to sit in the corner of the tin ) and I was left with large deposits of flour on the corners - apart from that the cake was lovely.
