My other half doesnt live with me hasnt seen it yet but has already told me to take it back before ive used it :-(.Reckons friends had one and it was too much expense time and effort.
So if anyone wants one at what I paid I'm in Macclesfield. If not it will be going back at weekend :-(
  • hmmmm, I would have to disagree with you OH.

Having a bread maker saves us a bunch of money because I never have to pop to the shops for a loaf.

I have 5 tupperware type containers that I pre-measure with the flour, sugar, salt, and milk powder. When I want to make a loaf (I usually do it last thing at night so we wake up to fresh bread) I just put in the yeast, dump in a container and add the water and oil.

Hardly any effort at all. Well worth it.

I used to be a buy-every-gadget person and never used them, but the breadmaker gets used daily.

HE DOESN'T LIVE WITH YOU, and he's telling you what to do?!

I suggest ignoring him and giving it a try. If it turns out he's right, then let him say "I told you so." In the meantime, why not ply him with something fresh-baked and delicious?

I had one given to me as a gift. I couldnt make bread normally but with this have never had a failure. Have made all kinds of ordinary and fruity types. 2 bad sides to it though. 1- i eat way too much bread as its so yummy 2-hubby will only eat warburtons, as the bread maker bread comes out a different shape to shop bread i found it harder to make a proper sandwich. Know that sounds silly. And i am not very good at cutting it straight either!

We made basic white loaf in ours last night fine, but a bit dry and crusty. We had fast action yeast and put just 1/2 packet in, so I will try a bit more next time. Green pixie I want to do carrot and walnut - let me know what it is like?

You have all really got me going now! Ive took the plunge and ordered a Panasonic breadmaker from Amazon. It will come on Tuesday. What ingredients do I need to get in ready? Strong flour? Also, what type of yeast?

Oooh, you are going to be soo happy with it beachbeth.

You will need strong flour, dried yeast that is suitable for breadmakers - be careful with that, the sachets are ok but expensive and you get tubs/packets that are less expensive that are ok - but some that are not. If it needs to be pre-activated don't buy it. Th yeast I use has ascorbic acid added and its wonderful!

You can use milk powder as well - not essential though, and butter/marg/oil, salt and sugar. You can also use ascorbic acid to help the rise, but I don't as its in the yeast.

The banana walnut cake finished its program half an hour ago. Just cut some slices up. It smells fab and taste even better. This is the best 14.99 I ever spent I think. Would recomend it to everyone
