Problems with Talk Talk

We have been trying since February to get broadband by with no success:mad::mad:
The first time we made an appointment and my partner took a day off on purpose, only to find out that the engineer had gone to another address and did not bother to phone us to double check.
The second time, we received a text confirming the appointment for a certain date and time, but the engineer never turned up.
So two, not one but two, days lost for NOTHING!
We then decided to phone to cancel the order but were told if we stayed on they'd scrap the connection fee. We agreed on a new appointment, but when we phoned to arrange it we were told a connection fee would apply (!!!!!).
An engineer finally came to install the phone line, but warned us it would take at least 3 weeks to get the internet connection (where are we, on the moon???)
After 1 month and no sign of internet connection, we phoned only to find out that the order had been misplaced and it will take another 3 weeks before we get our internet connection.
We tried to lodge a complaint online with TalkTalk, but without the customer reference you aren't allow to register and we do not have a customer reference!
I have never in my life met with such blatant incompetence and disregard for customer satisfaction. Please help!:mad::mad:

You will most likely find that it's not worth having if/when you finally get it!
You should have cancelled when you had the chance. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -
Should have gone to specsavers, sorry BT.
It does take a couple of weeks for the new number to appear on BT's database so broadband can be supplied.
If you now have a Talk talk telephone line then you can only have Talk Talk broadband. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
Sorry, I know, maybe we should have gone with BT, but we didn't.
Does anyone have a helpful suggestion on how to get through to this Talk Talk people?
If so, please help.0 -
Assuming you have exhausted the normal customer service routes, I'd suggest a concise, polite email to the CEO Charles Dunstone.

I'm in the same boat, and looking at the TalkTalk Members forum there are many others.
BT come around and install the phone line, then the broadband order gets "Stuck" in TalkTalk systems.
I think I will cancel too. Last time I called the cancellation team, they offered to give 2 months free to cover the time we didnt have broadband. But to be honest, that's not really good enough. They've refunded money for a service they didnt provide and we're no closer to getting the service that we ordered.
I'm not sure, if we cancel with TalkTalk do we have to order a new line from BT or can we tranfer over?0
